Who is the Misplaced Northerner?
Isabel was born in the nineties – all the best things were, after all, like the double-denim trend and Heelys. She first turned her hand to writing in her very early years, charting the epic adventures of cats Cherry, Blossom, Sugar, and Spice. The idea for a more professional book, Freefall, a fantasy novel, came into being when Isabel was twelve, and her second novel Etiquette was finished while she was in her first year at Oxford University, studying/bluffing Philosophy & German, and engaging in many extra-curricular activities, like drinking port, hosting parties, falling in lakes, falling in love, and falling asleep. Sometimes during lectures.
Isabel divides her time between Yorkshire, where she is a mother to a very large and immensely spoiled cat, and Oxford, where she somehow squeezes in DPhil work alongside an awful lot of eating, socialising, and updating her Instagram. |
